My 3rd grade team decided to watch
The Polar Express
tomorrow with our students in our Pajamas, have chocolate milk, and eat some cookie trains with marshmallows & whipped cream..
I can't wait..

We even have a little "bell" for each one of them (thanks Susan)!
How stinkin' cute is that?
...I finished all my lesson plans for the week we return already!
I'm set, now I just have some last minute things to get, tons of wrapping to do, and about a dozen people to visit..aahhhhh.
But
There is one thing lingering on "my to do list" and its BIG, its IMPORTANT and I need some help...My little girl is turning 8,
.. I'm going to celebrate her birthday with her in her classroom!
So far, so good, right??
well.... I have to read a book to her class (2nd Grade)
Which book do I choose?
I want the book to be perfect, funny, cute, ...
(I cant believe I'm stumped. I read books aloud all day every day.)
What do you think? What is your favorite read-a-loud?
and...does anyone else invite parents in to read stories for birthdays? Such a GREAT idea!

When are you reading to her class? Do you need a holiday book or is it after the holidays? Email me if you want some ideas. I like the reading on the birthday idea. I've got to remember that for next year.

Your Polar Express trains were adorable! Does the book need to be holiday??? This isn't holiday but a fave of mine and my students is The Great Fuzz Frenzy. It is adorable and the kids love it. Some of the pages open out...it's about a tennis ball and some prarie dogs....super fun!!

Cute ..It's for Jan 3rd- first day back!
ReplyDeleteI will look in the school library for that today..thanks!
My 2nd graders LOVE when I read aloud any of the Skippyjon Jones books--but you have to use a Spanish accent on the appropriate parts, haha! :) That is such a great idea to have parents read on birthdays! i wish they'd do that INSTEAD of sending in treats to sugar up my kids! :)
