reality tv (obsessed)

Are you ready for NBC’s Fashion Star? I just can’t get enough of television that highlights fashion, so I guess I'll be adding one more show to my TV lineup .  Fashion Star is a contest that will pit unknown designers against one another in hopes of winning a $6 million contract to sell to stores like Macy’s, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue .
In addition, each week, one winner will be selected and his/her design will be sold to the public!
Sounds interesting right?
What’s even more interesting is that the host is Elle Macpherson (so, so beautiful)
and fashion celebrities,
John Varvatos, Jessica Simpson and Nicole Richie (my fav)  are also - on the show!                                                                                  They will help determine the next Fashion Star.
POP SUGAR interviews Nicole Richie about the show!

Have you ever seen CoLoreD Loose Leaf
Oh my gosh when I found it I felt like I hit the jackpot!
My 3rd graders went wild for it, and they thought it was SO great for drawing illustrations...

Here are a  few pictures of the "fables" my class just published!
They are just
so much nicer with the colored loose leaf!
What do you think? I bought about a million the packages from Michaels.
(received a teacher discount too!)

Teaching Fashionista: Marni is coming to H&M - March 8, 2012!

Marni is coming to H&M - March 8, 2012!

Marni’s collection for H&M is all about freedom and experimentation, Marni prints and colours intended to mix and match together in a playful way. Everything goes with everything, making African prints the perfect companion to Bauhaus modernity, and sporty silhouettes sitting with more feminine shapes. The collection also includes a full range of shoes, bags and charming accessories to create a total Marni look at H&M. Meanwhile for men, Marni offers a fresh take on menswear staples, with a subtle use of print and a softened use of colour. H&M.com

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

Today was SO much fun!
My 3rd graders had a blast, made a mess, & were inspired -
Great things happened today,
thanks to a wonderful, talented, literary icon!
Did I mention that I must have been CRAZY to do the OoBleck experiment in my classroom solo with, oh.....about  30 kiddos! I guess I conveniently forgot about what a mess a little cornstarch and water can make!  (totally worth it!)
I also discovered a Dr. Seuss book that I've never read! IDK how this one slipped by me? Have you read?
Hooray for Diffendoofer Day? If not I recommend it,
especially if you teach a testing grade!

"All schools for miles and miles around
Must take a special test,
To see who's learning such and such-
To see which school's the best
If our small school does not do well,
Then it will be torn down,
And you will have to go to school in dreary
FLOBBERTOWN."

Then tonight the family went to see the LORAX in 3-D! It was really great!
